About Me

My name is Lauren, but I go by Lina online, or Lenore X (the old pen name). I'm 22, a recent college grad, and living in Seattle. Like any good Seattlite, I can make an espresso order that would probably confuse you. (But I usually prefer regular coffee.) Like any good Washingtonian, I love the outdoors, which makes me something of a non-traditional geek.

I like reading, writing, daydreaming, IRC, needlepoint, social/political activism, and watching House. My idea of a great Friday night is getting a pizza and watching anime or playing video games with my boyfriend John.

I work as an office temp just often enough to pay the bills, and greatly enjoy my free time.

I prefer cats to dogs, dresses to pants, red wine to white, and summer to all the other seasons.

I am a connoisseur of chocolate and badasses.

About no-da.net

The site that would become no-da.net started on Geocities back in 2000. I was an angsty 14-year-old and I wanted a place to host my angsty poetry. As you can probably guess, it has changed a lot, although one angsty teen poem survives here.

I originally shared no-da with my friend Touru, and my site the End of the Line was hosted here. But Touru has relinquished ownership of her half, meaning I can now run free about the entire domain.

Like I said, I'm not cool enough to have a blog... yet. For now, this site houses my other various creations.

Oh, right, the name!

"No da" is an interjection in Japanese meaning something like a verbal exclamation mark. The logo at the top of this page is it, rendered in the Japanese script hiragana. The little guy posing next to it is Chichiri, an awesome character from the anime Fushigi Yuugi. He ends virtually every sentence with no da, no da!
